Detroit Lakes Public Schools (ISD#22) is seeking a Business Manager to join our progressive and growing school district starting July 1, 2021.

The Business Manager serves as the chief financial officer overseeing accounting, budget processes, purchasing and fiscal reporting. Duties also include providing leadership and oversight to transportation, food service, building operations and maintenance. Serves as a member of the senior administrative team in addressing issues, programs and concerns of the district; updates and provides reports to the Finance, Facilities and Transportation committees of the board concerning related projects and activities.
 
Minimum Education Requirements:  

* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Business Management, or related field

Experience:

 * 3-5 years’ experience in accounting or finance
 * Increasing levels of administrative responsibility in the area of Accounting or Finance 
* Current or Prior experience as a School District Business Manager a plus!

Special Knowledge, Skills, Certifications, Licensure Required/Preferred:

 * Knowledge of supervisory and management theory, principles and fundamentals.
* Knowledge of district administrative policies, procedures and standards
* Knowledge of UFARS accounting principles
* Knowledge of investment, budget, accounting and purchasing functions
* Understanding of collective bargaining process and pertinent laws, rules and regulations.
* Ability to use discretion and exercise sound judgment
* Knowledge of applicable state or federal statutes.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
