This primary responsibility of this position is to provide outstanding customer service to our perspective, new incoming, and continuing students and families, proactively communicate financial aid information, and ensure day to day operation of the Financial Aid Office.
1. Support the mission and vision of Concordia College and demonstrate the competencies as defined for this position.

2. Customer Service – 50%
• Serve as the first point of contact for the financial aid office
• Answer questions from students and parents and triage to the appropriate team member when necessary
• Answer general office phone line and email account
• Schedule appointments for students and parents to meet with appropriate team members
• Assist students and parents with understanding financial aid offers, student account balances, determining and comparing net price, resolving student account holds, verification, aid application, appeal process, and other general financial aid issues
• Work closely with colleagues from other offices across campus including Admissions, Registrar, Student Success, Residence Life, and Advancement
• Manage office calendar in collaboration with FA team members
• Coordinate customer service duties with Data Specialist

3. Engagement & Outreach – 40%
• Daily award letter mailing/emailing
• Daily document tracking and imaging
• Coordinate forms and FA Handbook in collaboration with Marketing & Communication Office
• Coordinate and manage content for FA webpages, mailings, emails, texts, social media, and other proactive outreach around campus
• Proactively reach out to students and families to help them resolve outstanding issues related to FA file completion, and to help them understand their financial aid offer
• Work with Campus Legislative Liaison on various projects in conjunction with MN Private College Council
• Monitor and review daily/weekly reports and follow up as necessary
• Collaborate with Information Technology Office to manage document imaging, and other automated processes
• Proactively learn Banner functionality that will assist in our office processes

4. Other Duties As Assigned – 10%
• Manage office supplies and letterhead
• Data entry as assigned
• Cross train with Data Specialist on daily ISIR imports and discrepancy review
• Hire/Train/Supervise student employees
• Become knowledgeable on federal, state, and institutional financial aid rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

 

Minimum Qualifications:
• Four years of office/customer service experience or educational equivalent
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of computers (Software: Word, Excel, Access, etc)
• Knowledge of the English Language, ensuring proper usage of grammar and punctuation

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in Higher Education
• Experience working in Financial Aid
