Job Description
An Accounting Specialist is responsible for completing the following duties:
- Providing accounting support to major financial accounting areas, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation
- Provide timely and accurate payment processing by processing accounts payable checks
- Input credit and debits to the accounting system for payables and receivables
- Develop and maintain reports and files on the Accounts Payable processing
- Input general ledger entries for account changes
- Provide timely and accurate payment processing by processing accounts receivable checks
- Communicate with customers to request payment and arrange payment plans
- Analyzing workflow processes and problem-solving
- Develop and maintain regular reports via the company's accounting system
- Assist with multiple state registrations & reports
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- B.S. Accounting/Finance
- 2-3 years experience in accounting
- An equivalent combination of education in a related field and experience is acceptable
- Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures that is reflective of the financial services industry
- Working knowledge of Excel and exposure to automated accounting systems
