Job Description

An Accounting Specialist is responsible for completing the following duties:
  • Providing accounting support to major financial accounting areas, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation
  • Provide timely and accurate payment processing by processing accounts payable checks
  • Input credit and debits to the accounting system for payables and receivables
  • Develop and maintain reports and files on the Accounts Payable processing
  • Input general ledger entries for account changes
  • Provide timely and accurate payment processing by processing accounts receivable checks
  • Communicate with customers to request payment and arrange payment plans
  • Analyzing workflow processes and problem-solving
  • Develop and maintain regular reports via the company's accounting system
  • Assist with multiple state registrations & reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • B.S. Accounting/Finance
  • 2-3 years experience in accounting
  • An equivalent combination of education in a related field and experience is acceptable
  • Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures that is reflective of the financial services industry
  • Working knowledge of Excel and exposure to automated accounting systems
