The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.
Enterprise Functions Technology Architecture & Strategy team is part of the broader Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group within Wells Fargo Technology (WFT). Enterprise Functions Technology Architecture & Strategy Group is responsible for architecture for all enterprise functions of the bank (Enterprise Risk, Enterprise Finance, Enterprise Marketing, HR, Legal, Audit etc???). EFT Architecture is responsible for developing technology strategy, solutions architecture, technology guidance, standards decisions, patterns and architecture governance.
The Marketing Technology (MarTech) Architect is a key position within the Enterprise Functions Technology Architecture (EFTA) Group reporting into the Chief Architect, Marketing Technology Strategy. This position is responsible for setting key strategic architecture direction and actionable roadmap for Wells Fargo Marketing technology solutions working closely with other domain architects, the marketing business partners, CIO and Application managers.
This role will provide architecture support and guidance to Marketing related systems for the enterprise. Partner closely with senior level Marketing business leaders as well as the Application Managers around the Marketing Systems long range strategy and roadmap. Lead efforts to develop and evolve technology architecture to meet long term strategic objectives. Interact closely with senior technology leaders and third party vendors around creation of the architecture. Wells Fargo has a complex Marketing systems environment with 2,000 marketers serving all lines of businesses. The company is working to evolve the Marketing Systems technology architecture to provide innovative solutions that maximize return of marketing investment while bringing efficiency to business process and meeting compliance needs.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Working with the LOB business leader, application managers, Information Security, IS Architects, and project teams to create and manage end to end marketing portfolio Architecture.
  • Collaborate and Partner with the Marketing teams in defining and documenting the use cases, translating the marketing strategy, business capabilities into technical strategy, capabilities and architecture. Create target state architecture, capability maturity roadmap and transition state architectures.
  • Engage with leadership to understand business strategy, articulate solution options, evaluate trade-offs and influence key decisions.
  • Work with Chief Architect, Marketing Technology Strategy leader to maintain a Portfolio view of Marketing Technology architecture and roadmap.
  • Work with other architects in the team to craft target architectures at a capability/product level
  • Engage in cross EFT Architecture alignment activities and on a needs basis, assist in enterprise initiatives
  • Acts in a strategic role in the development and maintenance of architectures for Marketing functional domains that are in compliance with the Enterprise Architecture
  • Responsible for working on medium to high architectural impact projects to create solutions Architecture, reviewing and approving medium architectural impact designs, communicating the Architecture strategy and direction to both management and development teams, line of business and infrastructure and directing implementation of the architecture for Marketing Technology
  • Responsible for communicating the portfolio architecture strategy to other solution architects and providing the guidance in developing the solution architecture.
  • Review and approve the solution architecture for specific project/capability/product area by making sure the solution architecture aligns with the overall portfolio architecture strategy and guidelines.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on MarTech topics and explore/research emerging marketing technologies and trends.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: systems, applications, or architecture planning
  • 3+ years of experience using an industry standard database modeling language
  • 10+ years of information technology systems design and planning experience; in data, systems, applications, or architecture
  • 10 + years of experience designing software solutions using software architecture design principles
  • 7+ years of experience in application & data architecture and solution design
  • 5+ years of experience in architecting and strategizing the digital marketing technology solutions
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in one or a combination of the following: systems, applications, or architecture planning
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
  • Extensive technical skills and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of an entire line of business or infrastructure sub-domain

  • Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology
Other Desired Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in leading medium & large scale program solution architecture
  • 3+ years of experience in creating architecture for Marketing systems in one of these key marketing capability areas - Campaign Management, Marketing Resource Management, Personalization (Customer ID graph, personalization engines, etc), Content Management, Digital Asset Management, Customer 360/Customer Data Platform, Analytics & Big Data solutions
  • Experience and/or understanding of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning concepts and solutions in the marketspace
  • Experience with vetting packaged solutions against established enterprise standards
  • Ability to implement contemporary business solutions leveraging SOA, BPM, Mobile, Social, Integration, and Data technologies
  • Experience influencing management on technical or business solutions
  • Experience with a wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures to multiple applications or a component family
  • Demonstrated success engaging business partners in a consultative manner and turning business concepts into well designed technology solutions
  • Wells Fargo systems architect experience
