Robert Half Finance is actively searching for an earnest, resourceful Controller to join the innovative team at an prominent services company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. The Controller will be a full-time employment opportunity and will be located in the Medford, Minnesota region.

Your responsibilities

- Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

- Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

- Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

- Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

- Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

- Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

- Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations

- Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

- Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

- Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties

- Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

Job Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

- Solid understanding of cost accounting

- Manufacturing experience

- Full Cycle Accounting experience required

- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

- Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

- Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

- Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

- Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

- High attention to detail

- Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
