The Facility Operator position is responsible for the day-to-day safe and customer service-oriented operations of waste treatment, waste management and waste injection. The Operator will actively assist with standard operating procedures, hazard assessments, safety programs and environment protection. The Operator will be in constant contact with customers and must demonstrate excellent communications skills and a high level of customer service.


Essential Duties& Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operation of the facility
  • Responsible for truck unloading, TENORM impacted waste, oil emulsion and water & vac trucks
  • Participating in waste processing, waste and mud tank operation, shaker & operations and solids treating
  • Managing ongoing water injection, filter changing and pump maintenance.
  • Managing process chemicals inventory and usage.
  • Conducting processing of solids, if necessary.
  • Conducting boiler operations, testing and glycol system operations
  • Assist in developing Standard operating procedures of facility.
  • Submitting truck tickets summary, daily plant checklists, and balance and transfers to the office.
  • Participates in the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS)
  • Waste plant operation (ensuring solids processing is occurring efficiently)
  • Follow water injection SOP's and best practices to protect the disposal well integrity
  • General maintenance, ensure that the plant is kept clean and safe


??? Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  • A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years operational experience in waste processing, mud management, fracture operations, drilling operations, or water injection
  • Specialty training in boilers, treaters, pumps (all), repairs, shaker/centrifuge and loader is considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate strong methods regarding all processes in the plant, including; safety operations, oil treating & blending, waste processing, frac operations and water disposal
  • Current and valid safety tickets, including PEC Safeland, H2S, First Aid, Confined Space Entry, WHIMS and TDG
  • A strong attention to detail, communication skills with the ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding work environment
  • Must be able to document their work, perform and manage cross shift communication and ensure strategic communication with multiple stakeholders
  • Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate excellent decision-making skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and safe work practices
  • A valid and acceptable Driver's license and successful completion of Pre-employment testing
