Finance brings together enterprise functions that drive Wells Fargo's financial management, including accounting and control, financial planning and analysis, line of business finance, asset-liability management, treasury, tax management, and the company's investment portfolios. They also inform shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, employees, and leaders of the company's financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines.

This leader will report to the Head of Consumer and Small Business Banking Finance and be the finance leader for Wells Fargo's Consumer and Small Business Banking Diverse Segments. The position will build out and have accountability and responsibility to the Head of Diverse Segments. Outstanding leadership skills and the proven ability to foster a culture of strong business expertise, sound controls, and continuous improvement will be determining factors in selection.

The key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Provide strategic financial leadership to the head of Diverse Segments to help create and execute the roadmap leading to optimal financial performance; this includes providing expert advice and analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, costing, and reporting activities for the segments.
  • Help develop, model, and analyze customer analytics to ensure Wells Fargo is providing the right product and services to all customer segments.
  • Ensure proper preparation of financials for operating reviews and reports; financial ownership for business cases; and ad-hoc financial analyses. Be prepared to present these financial plans to Wells Fargo senior leaders, including the Operating Committee.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance for strategic planning as well as other long-range line of business level plans.
  • Act as the voice of the customer and drive transparency, cost simplification, and value measurement.
  • Uphold and maintain a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure regulatory, data, and controls compliance for all processes/programs undertaken by the finance teams supporting the head of Diverse segments.
  • Build relationships and partner closely with all Wells Fargo Finance and Consumer and Small Business Banking leaders, as well as partners across the entire organization.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics or reporting

  • Ability to positively influence, motivate, and direct diverse teams in a shift based, decentralized, and geographically dispersed environment
  • Ability to successfully exceed goals with a results focus
  • Experience with strategy development and implementation
  • Experience in data analysis to inform learning strategy focused on performance outcomes
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting
  • Demonstrated success and mastery managing in a matrixed environment

  • Experience in developing financial projections and establishing financial goals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proven ability to coherently present complex financial topics tailored to all audiences


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
