Global Optics, an industry leading distribution center of optical lenses to independent optical laboratories, is seeking an IT Manager. This role is a hands-on manager that is responsible for operations of all computer systems as well as strategic projects and planning. The successful candidate will have the skills, experience, and background to support the highly automated distribution center and back-office needs.


Responsibilities

  • Manage information technology and computer systems in Windows environment
  • Plan, organize, and lead IT projects and planning
  • Manage and maintain hardware replacement strategy
  • Maintain and monitor network backups and security
  • End user training, support, and troubleshooting
  • Oversee IT expenses and budget
  • Technical contact on all IT related matters
  • Hardware and software maintenance agreements
  • Evaluate IT usage and effectiveness including recommendations for improvement
  • Enhance relationship with IT service provider for specialized, backup, and other support needs


Position Requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware or software issues
  • Experienced Windows server and domain administrator
  • Microsoft SQL server experience
  • ERP software experience, Dynamics GP preferred
  • WMS experience, Warehouse Edge preferred
  • SSRS and Excel Refreshable reporting experience preferred
  • System integration or EDI experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Occasional support and project activities outside of normal business hours
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

Successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science plus related experience; an Associate's degree with 2+ years' experience; or 5+ years relevant experience in IT including at management levels.


Physical Demands

While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is required to lift no more than 20 pounds, sit for long periods of time, stand, reach, with arms and hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to observe safe work practices in the use of equipment. The work environment is in an office/warehouse that is adequately lit, temperature controlled, and the noise level is usually quiet to moderate. Work may require participation in special events and travel outside of office by air or car.
