Job Description
A Field Electrical Engineer is responsible for completing the following duties:
- Diagnose electrical, hydraulic and automation issues on existing equipment in the field
- Perform research and selection of replacement electrical components
- Support equipment in the field during start up that has a high amount of electrical support and concerns
- Provide technical training on electrical systems to our internal and field technicians and our customers
- Provide service support on machine electrical and hydraulic controls for Superior customers both in the field and telephone
- Understand and conform to applicable electrical codes and standards (NFPA, UL)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related study or 10+ years of experience (preferred) or technical training on Electrical/Hydraulic fluid power systems
- Thorough understanding of:
- Electrical relationships such as voltage, current, power, and AC/DC
- Electronic circuitry and electrical schematics
- Machine programming practices
- PLC programming and ladder logic (Allen Bradley)
- Mechanical power relationships such as horse power, torque, speed, and ratios
- Hydraulic relationships such as pressure, flow, efficiencies, and power
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- 50% travel is required
