Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a Technical Architect - Data in our Minneapolis office located in Minneapolis, MN.

Job Overview:

As a Technical Architect - Data, you will participate in strategic, data architectural discussions with senior stakeholders on projects. Additionally, you should have experience with all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of application developed for our clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide architectural direction and oversight on large-scale enterprise data solution implementations
  • Collaborate with Product Managers/Owners, end users, operational leadership, and subject matter experts to understand current and future goals.
  • Recommend modern technology stacks and enable adoption in order to meet business objectives
  • Communicate stakeholder business, functional, and non-functional requirements and supporting design to technical teams
  • Participate in technical planning & requirements gathering phases including design, code, test, support, and document engineering software applications.
  • Produce key technical architecture deliverables such as technical requirements documentation and conceptual technical architecture
  • Cultivate highly functioning teams comprised of Perficient and client resources that recognize the value and expertise of all of the different disciplines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience levels and mentor developers
  • Ensure that technical software development processes are followed, familiar with industry best practices for agile software development


Qualifications:

  • Proven thought leader with 10+ years of data solution development experience
  • Expert in technical leadership and providing architectural vision on full lifecycle solution development engagements for large-scale enterprise initiatives, including requirement analysis, design, development, test and support
  • Expert in defining data strategy and building data architectures for data streaming and data ingestion pipelines
  • Solid understanding of the cloud providers options for data management, data streaming, and data analytics (e.g. MS Azure: Event Hubs/Databricks, Apache Spark)
  • Expert knowledge of database solutions including Relational and NoSQL concepts and platforms (e.g. Cassandra)
  • Experience with messaging platforms (e.g. Kafka)
  • Familiarity with API, microservice, and integration concepts and technologies, such as REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, message queues, and integration patterns/frameworks
  • Experience in defining integration patterns, standards and best practices
  • Ability to articulate complex technical issues and solution proposals to all levels of client leadership
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert for data solutions
  • Strong consulting and communication skills
  • Proven management, leadership and mentoring skills
  • Ability to work effectively with various organizations in pursuit of technology solutions to business problems
  • Self-starter that can challenge the status quo and their team
  • Experience building distributed/cloud-based architectures
  • Experience with operational concerns (NFRs) and logging/monitoring solutions
  • Strong triaging, debugging, problem solving and investigative skills
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools (e.g. git/github, Jenkins, Gradle/Maven, Artifactory, containers/docker, Ansible)
  • Familiarity with automated testing solutions
  • Knowledge and experience in developing software using Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Experience with Agile task management tools (e.g. JIRA, Rally, VersionOne)
  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or comparable major
