Byline Small Business Capital's - Senior Portfolio Manager position exists to serve as the primary contact for our clients and the Bank through on-going servicing of SBA and USDA loans. Servicing of these larger and more complex credits, which includes those loans in excess of $2 million in exposure plus assigned distressed / classified loan accounts, requires annual review of loans, annual site visits, renewal or extension of maturing loans, loan restructuring, collections, overdraft resolution, financial exception tracking, and quarterly problem asset reports. The Senior Portfolio Manager is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with our customers by providing them with excellent customer service while simultaneously protecting the Bank's interests and minimizing risk. An interest in SBA Lending and Commercial Banking and working with people, building relationships and providing the best customer experience possible is essential to this role. Senior Portfolio Manager Core Responsibilities: * Manage collections of past due loan payments, past due property taxes, financial statement exceptions, lapsing insurance, and other loan or document issues. * Determine early warning signs of clients at risk and work with them to develop and execute an appropriate plan to mitigate risk. * Manage modifications and maturing loans including payoffs, extensions, obtaining and reviewing legal documents, ensuring renewals and modifications are properly closed. * Request, monitor, and resolve the progress of pertinent information such as appraisals, environmental reports, evaluations, title opinions and other necessary reports. * Coordinate collection and review of financial statements, tax returns, rent rolls and other documents as required to comply with annual reporting requirements and compliance standards. * Interact with clients through email, phone and client visits independently to address routine servicing matters and/or other related issues. * Perform site visits, annually or as required, and/or authorize and coordinate independent agencies to perform site visits. * Monitor the loan portfolio for early warning signs of financial weakness or other risks to the Bank. * Comply with all bank policies and procedures as well as applicable state and federal regulations. * Work with Bank staff to maximize sales efforts to business customers and cross sell other Bank products and services offered by the Bank. Requirements: * A minimum of four (4) years of Portfolio Manager experience in managing commercial loan accounts, preferably SBA loans. * A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field. * Advanced knowledge of SBA loan structuring, underwriting, documentation, credit and credit risk management. * Thorough understanding of risks (market, rate, leverage, etc.) as it applies to the lending process. * Strong knowledge of loan agreements, assumptions, accounting, loan structuring, and collateral procedures. * Experience in identifying documentation risks, addresses, and /or negotiating them to resolution as well as determining when to elevate risk situations to the appropriate individuals. * Knowledge of SBA 7a, 504 and CAPline programs, requirements, and loan documentation extremely helpful. * Formal Credit Training is preferred. * Loan workout experience preferred. * Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift frequently. * Exceptional analytical, organization, problem solving and time management skills. * Working knowledge of federal and state banking regulations. * Working knowledge of Small Business Administration Standard Operating Procedures desired. * Strong ability to work in a team based environment. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office, Word and Excel, PowerPoint, and financial forecast models. * Strong analytic and reasoning skills.
