Process Development Engineer II
Process Development Engineer II | $75-$90k + 10% Bonus | White Bear Lake, MN
The primary responsibility of this position is to develop processes and introduce new contract-manufactured parts to production. This position requires adaptability to work with a variety of processes while refining process settings, tooling and documentation from concept through process validation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop processes, fixtures, and equipment for site requirements
- Involved in prototyping, process development, confirmation runs, and validation. Available to support and trouble shoot production issues as needed
- Assume responsibility for completeness and accuracy of developed processes (i.e., lead, manage, communicate, complete documentation, train) including ownership of process capability, and process costs
- Utilize process characterization skills and tools such as Design of Experiments (DOE), pFMEA, scale up factors, mitigation to foreseen risks, and capability analysis. This knowledge may be leveraged across various technologies as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Biomedical) required.
- A minimum of 2 years of engineering experience required
- Process experience in one or more of the following preferred: medical device or component manufacturing, mechanical assembly, adhesive bonding, laser welding
- Process capability and validation experience is preferred
- Experience interfacing with customers preferred
- Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, and strong problem-solving skills
- Must thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment and computer programming
