Description:Provide survey and technical support for GRE's Transmission Division to meet the design requirements and ensure the objectives of the department are met. This position is located at our facility in Elk River, MN.

• Assist survey crew in collecting survey data for transmission line projects.
• Typical job duties include completing topographic surveys, construction staking, boundary determinations and soil probes.
• Surveys are completed using Trimble GPS units and SX10 scanning total stations, with the data being processed in Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D.
• Set up projects in the field based on accepted survey practices.
• Support the design of projects by providing survey data.

Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in a two-year technical degree (such as drafting, survey tech., or civil tech.),
• Basic - geometry, trigonometry, basic mathematics
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical problem solving and decision-making skills.

Physical Requirements:

• The majority of the work assignments will be performed in the field.
• The remaining portion of the job is performed in a normal office environment.
