THE POSITION:

This senior level position is primarily responsible for owning and administering the network infrastructure at all locations, to include network hardware and software, installation, administration, support, and licensing of all enterprise network systems. This position further serves as an escalation point and mentor for the network team and others within IT Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the design, installation, administration and support of software and/or hardware systems.
  • Utilize expertise in creating network and enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Provide technical support for network issues and serve as an escalation point for the team.
  • Network analysis, design, installation, configuration, and support.
  • Support the voice team and server team with network related IT tasks.
  • Design and support of a co-location for disaster recovery.
  • Design fail-over and load-balancing solutions.
  • Cooperate with IT staff on all initiatives including after-hours support.
  • Must have critical thinking skills and technical acumen.
  • Forward thinking with understanding of how to automate systems to improve system efficiency.
  • Willingness to learn and mentor others.
  • Open dialogue with business leaders to facilitate input and drive improvements.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations to facilitate improvements.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned.

EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • 10-12 years performing network administrator duties in Cisco-centric environment.
  • Holistic configuration and management of Cisco ASA infrastructure in a complex business environment (e.g., including B2B extranet, site-to-site VPN, external API connectivity, etc.)
  • Design, installation, configuration, and management of common Cisco hardware and configurations
  • Experience with routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
  • Ability to perform complex network design and integration
  • Ability to troubleshoot and remediate issues in a complex, voice-integrated infrastructure.
  • Strong information assurance skill set (i.e., auditing, security, DR, availability, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of common telco requirements and processes, including the ability to work directly with technical and administrative telco representatives


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Information Technology or like specialty strongly desired.
  • Cisco CCNP level certifications are highly desired
  • Cisco Voice experience a plus
  • Cisco ACI experience is a plus
  • Experience with network design for mergers and acquisitions
  • ITIL Foundation certification a plus
