Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Pipe layer to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for laying piping systems to carry a variety of different utilities. You will use a variety of power and hand tools so you should have mechanical skills and manual dexterity.

Job Requirements:

Job Duties

Read and understand blueprints for the project

Assemble or secure pipes, tubes, fittings, or related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading joints.

Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to specifications.

Select pipe sizes and types and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.

Attach pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.

Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.

Weld metal materials to piping systems equipment using the appropriate welding procedure for the various equipment and metal types involved

Install pipe and fittings with a high level of quality

Perform structural and pipe welding

Verify grades to be sure installations are correct

Assist with testing

Set up Laser and scope

Keep track of small tools and perform minor maintenance of small equipment

Identify all safety risks and requirements

Remove and replace worn components.

Inspect work sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weakness.

Layout, position, align, cut, assemble, and fit metal components together in various body positions and in various places

Installation of plumbing fixtures in accordance with local codes


Requirements

High school, GED or equivalent.

Experience as a pipe fitter preferred

Knowledge of the plumbing and piping skills.

Knowledge of pipe laying practices and commitment to safety

Ability to read prints and schematics, both electrical and mechanical

Ability to setup and operate shop equipment and portable power tools.

Ability to weld, machine and fabricate.
