What you will do

As a Cloud/IoT Architect we are looking for a proven background in designing high performing applications and working with a wide range of technologies while also getting your hands dirty in the Java Code. As part of an Agile team, the Cloud/IoT Architect will oversee the successful delivery of high-quality solutions, design cutting-edge applications and champion technical excellence within a high performing software engineering environment.

How you will do it

* Design solutions and architectural designs which achieve high levels of performance, quality and end-user satisfaction
* Develop creative solutions and functional prototypes to demonstrate proof of concepts and to enable rapid confirmation of design ideas
* Write Java Code and Participate in code reviews to ensure applications support existing architecture and follow the defined framework guidelines and coding standards
* Software / application architecture and design of high transactional and/or distributed applications
* Create design documents
* Resolves complex technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation
* Be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures
* Participate in the full development life cycle including requirements analysis & documentation, and design.
* Advise development teams on development, testing and deployment and provide technical guidance to developers on program coding and testing
* Participate as a design leader in the creation of technological solutions
* Mentor our software developers
* Work independently and collaboratively in a geographically distributed team
* Work closely with DevOps to ensure security, availability, reliability, scalability of solutions
* Travel is occasional at 10-25%, including international

What we look for

Required:

* 10 years of commercial experience with Java/JEE
* 3 years of commercial Node.js experience
* 3 years of experience with Kubernetes
* 5 years of experience in designing, building and supporting a real time distributed SaaS platform
* 3 years of Spring Boot framework experience
* 3 years of Webservices/Microservices experience
* Working knowledge of Azure, Amazon Web Services, and/ or Google Cloud
* Solid understanding of cyber security with emphasis on designing software for security
* Understanding of asynchronous vs. synchronous message processing and event-based architectures

Preferred:

* Experience with IoT understanding of networking and IoT message protocols and related technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, AMQP, MQTT, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
* Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Excellent written and verbal communications.
* Strong recent experience in Solid understanding of automated testing, continuous delivery, Agile methodologies
* Strong understanding of the full SDLC and Agile methodologies
* Experience with CI/CD (build/deployment automation)
* Influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
* Detailed driven especially for code reviews of nicely written clean code
* Excellent communication skills with ability to influence the use of software development best practices
* Generalist with full stack skills
* Experience with Scrum and Agile
* Experience with Unit and UI testing and frameworks
* Android, IOS and Angular experience
* Experience with Python
