Responsibilities


Responsible for planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluating educational and training programs for the hospital staff; coordinates the development and implementation of patient education programs; coordinates orientation of new staff; assists with planning community education programs.

This position will have one shift per pay period on the floor.


JOB DUTIES:

Evaluates, plans, develops and conducts hospital-wide educational training programs to enhance capabilities of personnel to perform their jobs.

Develops and secures approval for long- and short-term goals and objectives for the hospital's education and training program.

Maintains required education records for validation of survey requirements.

Assists with development and updates of policies, procedures and protocols for nursing, based on current standards of care, regulations, evidence based practice, and to be in compliance as required by surveying agencies.

Leads, coordinates, and assists with presenting annual competency training for all RN's, LPN's and C.N.A.'s.

Organizes and/or conducts community health screening clinics and educational programs. Schedules and provides community CPR and First Aide courses on a regular basis.

Assist in development of CHI Mercy Health's strategic plan as needed.

Will work one shift as a staff RN within a scheduling period on a patient care area (PCU or ER).

Performs other duties as assigned.




Qualifications



Requirements

Registerd Nurse in North Dakota

CPR

ACLS

NR Instructor or eligible for certification

Experience in administering education and facilitating entire process

The ability to independently plan, organize, develop, conduct and evaluate an effective education and training program

The ability to relate to people in a manner to gain their confidence and establish their support
