Job Description

Analyzes and evaluates residential mortgage loan applications originated by Bremer Bank branch offices. Gathers, analyzes and interprets credit information in accordance with agency and investor guidelines while adhering to quality standards and compliance regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS: Combination of education and experience, generally attained through a high school diploma or GED and 5 years relevant experience. A minimum of 5+ years of mortgage loan underwriting experience is required. The ideal candidate is required to be proficient in the processing of conventional loans, FHA and VA loans, bond and/or portfolio loans. Underwriters at this level must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to be a strong resource among their peers as a Team Lead and/or Trainer, and assist underwriting staff with technical questions to ensure the department meets their goals of turnaround standards, productivity, accuracy and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate both in written and oral form with internal and external clients to provide support as needed, possess strong organizational skills, be detail-oriented and self-motivated, demonstrate the ability to work toward closing date deadlines and tasks assigned, and manage work flow queue for file assignments independently. Ability to demonstrate and consistently model Bremer values, Bremer Leadership Competencies and foster an inclusive work environment.
