Job Description:

The Drug Authorization and Policy Override (DAPO) contact center is a specialized drug helpdesk for prescribers, their designees, and pharmacy providers to submit prior authorization (PA) requests for specific drugs and to request policy overrides for specific policies over the phone. The DAPO contact center reviews prior authorization (PA) requests and policy exceptions for members enrolled in Wisconsin Public Assistance programs such as Medicaid, BadgerCare Plus, and SeniorCare.   • Actively participate as a key member of the team.
  • Validate member eligibility for benefits or services.
  • Handle inquiries via phone, email or written correspondence for PA requests and drug policy overrides from prescriber and pharmacy providers.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance.
  • Provide resolution and feedback based on an analysis of a member's situation.
  • Interpret and provide recommendations based on existing contract requirements, business rules, and related industry and legal regulations.
  • May support additional contact center departments, depending on business need.

Requirements

  • Must hold and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of working experience in related fields.
  • Ability to access and retrieve information using a PC and basic understanding of Microsoft Office products.
  • Self-motivated with good time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills, including professional telephone skills.
  • Ability to work independently and ask questions as needed.

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Office administrative experience and skills.
  • Strong healthcare-related knowledge.
  • Ability to follow written policies, procedures and guidelines, and give feedback to leadership
  • Ability to read and interpret basic to moderately complex documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and government/healthcare guidelines.

Work Environment

  • Core Hours are M-F 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. No night, holiday, or weekend hours!
  • Initially this role will be remote and then return to office at a later date.
