This role is remote(virtual) and can be located anywhere in the USA or Europe.

The next stage of growth for Land O'Lakes' feed additive business, PMI, will require the development of disruptive technologies that will advance health, immunity, and animal performance in targeted species. The Innovation Platform role will lead a cross-functional team and collaborate with internal and external partners to establish and accelerate one or more of our global additive innovation platforms. The position will report to the General Manager.

Key responsibilities:

Innovation Platform Leadership

The strategic innovation platforms are composed of external partners performing strategic and executional tasks for the exploration and development of a targeted innovation space. The role consists in ensuring the innovation tasks are performed (work on data, IP, business plans, etc.) and connect the projects seamlessly to the product development process.

• Collaborate with external technology partners, universities, and research institutions on innovation projects.

• Coordinate with Product Managers to advance projects from upstream innovation to product development stage. Work in partnership with colleagues to develop new products that help solve the production and health challenges of the livestock producers.

• Provide specialized insights on projects related to designing novel solutions for the production and health challenges faced by producers.

• Support the global regulatory and IP strategy for novel ingredients and compounds.

Required Education and Experience:

• Advanced degree in animal science or animal nutrition or immunology or related field and 7+ years of demonstrated experience in the development of novel feed additives and elucidation of the mode of action, including experiencing with plant-based technology.

• Strong understanding of the impact of plants on animal physiology, gut health, immunity, and performance

• Demonstrated expertise across different species of production animals.

• Experience in strategy development and strategic communication with leadership.

• Strong collaborative skills and influencing with and without authority.
