Provide leadership to the Instructional Designers and and Learning Technology Specialist including supervision, mentorship and work prioritization. Serve as primary point of contact for request, development and technology delivery of Wanzek and/or CEI specific training programs including safety related content.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Instructional Design

  • Provide leadership and work direction to instructional designers, including assessing priority, assigning projects and designing as needed.
  • Collaborate with organizational divisions to assess need for curriculum for critical training programs, including safety related content.
  • Oversee development and improvement of training content including applying relevant instructional design philosophy, curriculum development and all visual design elements.
  • Apply adult learning and development pedagogy to instructional design to ensure effectiveness of training programs.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the company to develop and assess relevant learning and program outcomes for training programs.
  • Utilize creative strategies to develop multi-modal delivery of training programs (Instructor-led, online, hybrid) to meet the needs of diverse learners and site logistics.
  • Ensure procedural trainings, including those related to SOPs, are updated on a quarterly basis.

Learning Technology

  • Provide leadership and work direction to Learning Technology Specialist.
  • Serve as primary contact for external LMS vendor and coordinate LMS relationship with internal and stakeholders, including integrations with internal programs.
  • Develop, create and analyze reports from the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Explore and implement innovative and/or cutting-edge technologies into training programming, including virtual reality and enhanced reality formats when appropriate.
  • Coordinate Instructional Design and LMS functions to maintain efficient delivery of training.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert on the LMS and other learning technology programs and platforms.
  • Acts as a liaison and coordinates relationships with vendors, content providers and/or external organizations to identify, research and recommend additional training resources, courses and/or materials.
  • Special project work as needed.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four-year degree in training and development, communications, marketing, business, or other related degree with appropriate skills to be effective.
  • 5+ years relevant work experience, including supervisory experience required
  • Experience designing, developing, delivering and evaluating technical and non-technical training course material and e-Learning content.
  • Experience with a Learning Management System and eLearning course authoring software.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principles
  • Requires advanced skills in Windows, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Outlook, Internet and the ability to be trained in various other systems
  • Proficient in online course development software including Captivate and/or Articulate or the equivalent
  • Working understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud Apps: Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects or similar
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Must have adaptability to a variety of training audiences
  • Able to maintain records and documentation
  • Proficient in online course development software including Captivate and/or Articulate Storyline
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
