JOB DESCRIPTION

In the role of Senior Project Manager working in Waukesha you will be a part of the Engineering Project Management team. As the Senior Project Manager you are responsible for planning and executing all product development activities including new product introductions, cost reduction, technology integration, and life cycle product support. The position requires excellent technical and cross-functional product development knowledge coupled with superior people leadership skills. This is an exciting role where you with have a tremendous impact on the organization.

This position reports to the Director of Project Management and works cross functionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management leadership for new product development projects including: creating schedules, executing product development plans, integrating the activities of cross-functional team members.
  • Lead major domestic and global projects, in collaboration with engineering and product management for new product development, via the Company Development Process (CDP).
  • Lead the transformation of product roadmap and requirements into project scope, design and product realization requirements.
  • Effectively manage the product development process. Utilize the Company Development Process (CDP) Milestones and Design Reviews as key drivers of product development progression.
  • Develop and lead Risk and Mitigation plans for projects. Define and lead contingency option assessment when needed, then select and execute mitigation plans.
  • Manage attributes and decisions specific to any of the product markets such as make vs. buy (globally), shipping and logistics cost, bidding process, optimizing as-delivered cost of components and whole installed product.
  • Achieve target product cost for company and product life cycle cost for Customers.
  • Lead collaboration between departments to identify and harvest new product development concepts, technologies, techniques, standards and procedures.
  • Identify, evaluate and document "lessons-learned" during the project and communicate best practices and lessons learned to project team members on future projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree - in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 10+ years of project management experience with cross functional teams and global product releases throughout the entire product life cycle - experience managing industrial and/or consumer products projects is preferred
    • 5+ of years of experience managing new product development projects
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience with cross-functional teams which includes 'full system' product releases
