Position Description

This position is responsible for the development, loading, and maintenance of CNC programs through the use of 3-D CAD models and CAM software. Post-process editing may also be required to optimize tool paths, machine efficiency, and tooling life. The position will also develop and maintain the tool libraries needed to support program development. Responsibilities will be focused on current multi-axis CNC machining operations, as well as the development of programs for laser and press brake operations.

Essential Functions:

  1. Occasionally create programs for several CNC machines.
  2. Occasionally update programs for CNC machines.
  3. Addresses questions from machine operators.
  4. Frequently create programs for laser and press brake.

Skills & Abilities:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Experience: Three years of related experience in metal fabrication or machining environments is required. 1+ year of laser programming required.

Computer Skills: Requires strong knowledge of CAM, AutoCAD, and Solidworks software. Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications. Recommended - knowledge of Product Data Management Systems; Pressbrake programming experience is a plus

Certifications & Licenses: Completion certificate in CNC programming or CADCAM programming

Other Requirements: Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform trigonometric, algebraic, and geometric calculations. Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees. Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings.
