Transmission & Distribution Studies Engineer

The successful applicant will conduct a variety of transmission and distribution studies to ensure Otter Tail Power Company’s system continues to provide reliable, safe and affordable energy to customers across the region.

For this role we require a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience in the area of transmission or distribution planning. Excellent communication and technical writing skills are required with proficiency in a variety of Microsoft Office products with the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders. Must have strong computer skills with leadership and abstract problem-solving skills. 

Additional qualifications preferred, but not required include: (1) at least five years of industry experience, (2) familiarity with software programs to simulate system performance and energy market characteristics, and (3) knowledge of regional tariffs, business practice manuals and study procedures.
