MYR Energy Services provides EPC contracting services for renewable and solar energy facilities throughout the U.S. including permitting, energy storage, complete solar facilities, and substation and transmission line interconnections.

Project Engineer duties include the support of functions related to construction management in the solar construction industry. Candidate must be able to successfully assist with preparation of plans and applicable specifications and must be able to interface with, and provide general project support to, senior project professionals.

Project locations vary and are located across the country. Project Engineer candidates will typically live and work in the area of the project and then travel as project needs change. The ability to travel and relocate to projects is essential to the success of this position.

Duties

  • Construction monitoring tasks including interpretation of applicable construction drawings
  • Assist with the review of plans and specifications and prepare a checklist of contract features which require periodic attention and list items the sub-contractor must submit for approval prior to the start of the work
  • Assist with cost estimates as needed
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate records
  • Assist with preparing statements of work, submittals, change management, and necessary daily and weekly reporting
  • Promote safety in construction operations and ensure compliance with safety requirements
  • Inspect equipment, material, workmanship, and finished construction
  • Check progress of work in the field
  • Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed and materials used conform to specifications
  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable.



Principal Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering required. Equivalent work experience in lieu of education is acceptable.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the construction operations of utility solar plants
  • Ability to interact with the craft to advance continuous improvements and lean processes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project
  • Possess strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to think practically while remaining detail-oriented
