The Executive Director is responsible for providing professional and quality person centered care for residents with Alzheimer's disease and other types of Dementia to promote their highest well-being. In addition, the Executive Director performs administrative and supervisory duties in the coordination of program services, quality assurance and personal services which involves the implementation and evaluation of program policies and procedures as directed by state, federal and administrative codes. The Executive Director is also responsible for ensuring compliance to company policies and state regulations. This position will function as part of an interdisciplinary team and also be able to work independently. The Executive Director reports to a Regional Director.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative and Operations Management

  • Conduct financial management of the operating expenses and revenue, projections and records
  • Implement operational policies, procedures and systems
  • Understand current state CBRF and State regulations ensuring the home is in compliance
  • Inform staff of changes and ensure compliance with regulations

Program and Service Implementation

  • Implement and maintain person centered care through MOSAIC quality of life program to enhance each resident's mind, body and spirit
  • Provide leadership to the MOSAIC program, delivery of care and services to residents with Alzheimer's disease and other types of Dementia
  • Encourage, mentor and empower staff to consistently practice MOSAIC program


Assessment and Care Planning

  • Perform assessment of potential residents
  • Admit and discharge residents according to admissions criteria
  • Respond to inquiries from potential residents, communications and process applications
  • Oversee the admission process including the agreement, rate setting and communication with family, health and other providers
  • Complete individual care plans for each resident with interdisciplinary team and ensure service delivery according to individual residents' needs

Family Support

  • Inform families of resident's status a minimum of twice per month
  • Work with the family in maintaining a strong relationship with their relative residing in the home
  • Assist family members in understanding the frailties of age, Alzheimer's disease, and related dementias when appropriate

Personnel Management

  • Supervise staff and complete performance evaluations and salary increase recommendations
  • Perform coaching and disciplinary discussions with staff as needed
  • Maintain the established staffing model and staff-to-resident ratios
  • Recommend revisions according to changing resident care needs and changes in census
  • Maintain master staffing schedule and find replacements for staff call-in's
  • Establish staffing needs in collaboration with the Regional Director

Marketing

  • Maintain occupancy of the residence and establish waiting list in collaboration with the Director of Community Relations
  • Ensure positive image of the residence
  • Promote residence in the community through an active referral network
  • Plan and conduct events to showcase the residence and its program
  • Provide tours and information as needed


Building Management

  • Maintain the repair and maintenance of the building and grounds with coordination through facilities management
  • Ensure the house and yard is clean and properly maintained, informing Facility Operations of needed repairs, etc.
  • Maintain records of regular maintenance and repairs made in the residence
  • Maintain inventory of residence supplies, equipment and property
  • All other duties as may be assigned
