Accountant II

Robert Half Finance and Accounting is assisting a client in the recruiting for a full-time Accountant to join their team. As the Accountant, you will be assisting the Accounting Department in all areas of accounting; preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, account reconciliation, assisting with budgeting and forecasting and providing assisting with AP and AR when necessary. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Based in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, this role is a career-building, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a rapidly growing company with growth opportunity.

Your responsibilities:

- Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

- Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process

- Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

- Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Assist AP and AR as needed

- Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

- Recent and relevant accounting experience - 2 years minimum

- Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

- Experience working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

- Bachelor in Accounting required

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (ie marcos, pivot tables, etc)

- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

- Month-end Close activities experience required

- Experience with cost accounting

- Wide ranging experience with internal audit

- GAAP Accounting understanding required

- Manufacturing Industry preferred

- Efficient in ERP systems
