Carpentry Maintenance

Position Description & Details: The purpose of the carpentry trade at NDSU is to maintain, repair, renovate and remodel all buildings on campus inside and out which would include classrooms, labs, offices and Auxiliary and other support facilities. The carpenters also coordinate jobs with other trades such as painter, plumbers and electricians. Also inclues other duties that may be necessary for NDSU to fulfill its missions.

Responsibilities: Carpentry / General Maintenance; Plumbing Repair; HVAC Repair; Electrical Repair

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm with rotating 24/7 callback schedule

Advertised Salary: $40,000 min. yr / commensurate with experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 4 years work experience n commercial carpentry
• Ability to read blue prints
• 3 years residential HVAC field service experience
• Ability to obtain City of Fargo Journeyman's heating / gas license within 1 year
• Type 1 EPA refrigeration license or ability to obtain within 1 year
• Valid drivers license
• Good interpersonal/oral/written communication skills
• Customer oriented and detail oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AAS Degree in Carpentry
• 7 years work experience in commercial carpentry
• Welding experience
• Computer experience ie; Microsoft Office, Outlook, FAMIS
