Position Information

Position Description & Details:

Under the cooperative direction of the Director of Men's and Women's Track & Field, the essential functions and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: assisting in the recruitment of qualified student-athletes; organizing and planning practice, communicating with strength and conditioning staff and writing strength and conditioning program for team members; assisting with equipment ordering, scheduling, meet management, and other duties as assigned. Complying with NCAA, Summit League and University rules and regulations. Primary coaching emphasis is on throwing events.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the recruitment of qualified student-athletes.

Organize and plan practices.

Communicate with Strength and Conditioning staff.

Develop strength and conditioning program for team members.

Assist with the ordering of equipment.

Assist with scheduling.

Assist with meet management.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Men's and Women's Track & Field

Advertised Salary:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.

Strong background in intercollegiate track & field with a skill analysis and technique emphasis in the throwing events.

Strong background in strength and conditioning.

Thorough knowledge, understanding, experience and commitment to NCAA compliance.

Evidence of ability to interact positively with student-athletes, parents, colleagues and the public.

Evidence of strong organizational skills.

Demonstration of effective oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated professional behavior.

Preferred Qualifications:

Evidence of successful participation as an athlete.

Evidence of successful experience coaching in a highly competitive intercollegiate Division I program.
