Job Details
The Life Enrichment Supervisor assists in the planning and implementing of activities programs for the residents to stimulate them physically and mentally during recreation, following standards determined by local, state and federal regulations. Evaluates the activities program for variety, effectiveness, and appropriateness, to ensure the highest quality of care possible for the residents of Eventide.
Includes supervision of assigned staff and volunteers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates resident activities programs. This involves planning programs for residents at varying levels of physical and mental abilities for the purposes of stimulation and recreation to meet individual needs.
- Develops a rapport with assigned residents and families to develop an understanding of residents' needs and interests.
- Is responsible for maintaining records on each of their assigned residents. Records include: attendance, charts, goals, quarterly activities notes, hospitalization reviews, discharge summaries and initial assessments.
- Attends initial and quarterly care conferences in conjunction with resident care team for each resident. Must be able to complete on the computer: Minimum Data Set, RAPS, and Care Plan.
- Coordinates and is accountable for the daily services provided by activities within the nursing home.
- Makes recommendations to DON for alternative programs and/or changes.
- Establishes, implements and evaluates policies and procedures.
- Promotes positive customer relations.
- Plans and maintains budget with approval of DON.
- Provides initial and on-going training for staff and activity volunteers and makes recommendations for continued education of the staff to promote quality geriatric care.
- Monitors and supervises all activity staff according to established policies, procedures and standards. Evaluates staff needs and maintains adequate staffing. Assists in hiring new employees as needed.
- Is held responsible for job performance appraisals of activity staff, any disciplinary actions for staff and any termination of employment in consultation of the DON. All terminations will be reviewed by the Executive Vice President and/or Executive Vice President of Human Resources.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Must be eligible for certification by the National Certification Council of Activity Professionals or eligible for certification by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation as a CTRS preferred. NAR certification preferred.
