Job Summary
The Inventory Planner position is responsible for both demand management and inventory planning for all of Altru Health System's perpetual inventory locations. Their responsibilities include identifying inventory variances based on historical performance and expected activities of products, and planning inventory needs for future demand. The position develops and oversees processes for maintaining adequate supply levels based on current market conditions while identifying opportunities to minimize inventory levels as appropriate.
Essential Job Functions
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Related Field; Required
A minimum of 2 years of related experience; Required
Notes: Healthcare Supply Chain experience preferred
Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrates proficient computer skills with a high degree of accuracy - variety of computer tasks.
Demonstrates excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrates strong data analytical ability and/or advanced statistical techniques and concepts.

Essential Job Functions
- Monitors inventory levels by reviewing daily inventory reports and working with the appropriate Supply Chain staff to resolve inventory issues.
- Develops effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns.
- Communicates with internal customers and suppliers regarding inventory availability and changes in supply utilization.
- Routinely monitors inventory min/max levels to ensure current inventory levels align with usage trends.
- Provides input to the Supply Chain Manager in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
- Identify current and potential product shortages, develop and execute recovery, and advise interested parties of status and recovery plans.
- Supports Supply Chain team with risk assessments and mitigation activities.
- Interacts with supply end users to understand demand forecast and supply utilization drivers.
- Coordinate and manage monthly cycle counts for all perpetual inventory locations and participate in annual physical inventory.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
