The job:

The Industrial Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, building, installing, and commissioning various industrial controls in a variety of conditions. This may include some programming, panel building, trouble shooting and light electrical work. Bonus points for paper industry experience. All employees must act with urgency, accountability, and flexibility to ensure Wescom's core values are always followed.

The Maintenance Technician, E&I serves as a key member of the Maintenance team working collaboratively and proactively on maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues and repair of machinery including electrical and instrumentation, mechanical equipment throughout the Paper Mill, Paper Coater and our Effluent Treatment Plant.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  1. Safely and efficiently troubleshoots electrical systems that includes but are not restricted to PLC troubleshooting & repair, drive troubleshooting & repair, and Instrumentation & controls.
  2. Builds and troubleshoots Logic and systems and performs electrical circuit troubleshooting & repair. Assists with conduit & wire installation, lighting repair, troubleshooting & repair of hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission and conveyor systems.
  3. Performs repairs and preventative maintenance during routine and extended outages.
  4. Logs and reports issues and provides feedback for long-term machine use/efficiency.
  5. Attends onsite training as required by the company.
  6. Assists in developing equipment strategies including spare part stocking, PM optimization, and PdM.
  7. Communicates with operators while troubleshooting equipment.
  8. Support all projects as assigned.
