What you will do

Our newly established Product Management COE is focused on building Product Management, Commercial Launch and Services Excellence within our $11B Global Products organization. He/she will work within the Product Management COE to drive performance transparency and KPI accountability across the GP organization for Johnson Controls.

You will develop, evaluate and implement New Product Introduction (NPI) analytics and performance tracking tools. He/she will also prepare standard reporting for key stakeholders, as well as document and review areas, to improve efficiency, quality, and accuracy within the product development process, with an emphasis on continuous improvement.

How you will do it

* Build commercial business performance transparency across the 10 GP businesses to drive profitable growth, and deliver on financial commitments as detailed in project business plans.
* Collect and coordinate business requirements for analytical reporting.
* Monitor the performance of reports and dashboards, complete data validation, and resolve data integrity issues.
* Provide BI system user support through training and query resolution to ensure the most effective usage of BI data.
* Key focus on eliminating manual reporting activities within the Product Management teams through system automation.
* Assess current state reporting activities and develop robust solutions to automate and optimize.
* Ensure appropriate security measures are adhered to.
* Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
* Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
* Lead data quality initiatives within all tools.
* Filter and "clean" data, and locate and correct code problems.
* Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
* Review ad-hoc vs. standard management reporting process to help determine when repetitive ad-hoc requests should be included as standard reporting.
* Perform various ad-hoc assignments.

What we look for

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Applications, Engineering, Business Management, Mathematics or related field.
* 1-2 years as a Business or Data Analyst.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience with Visualization Software (ie. PowerBI) and Coding (ie. SQL, Hive/Hadoop, etc.)
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
* Self-motivated, results-oriented and possess a strong sense of urgency.
* Strong time management and organization skills.
* Highly customer-focused and able to manage conflicting priorities.
