As Vice President of Compliance, you will manage a team of regulatory/compliance professionals and provide strategic leadership to our business partners. This role will be responsible for the compliance oversight of Optum's care delivery organization. Optum's care delivery organization is a nationwide health care delivery organization that is reinventing health care, unlike anyone else in the marketplace, to help keep everyone healthier and feeling their best. Optum Care is comprised of primary and specialty care practices as well as ambulatory care centers across the United States.

This leadership role will oversee all compliance related activities and be responsible for continuing to establish and improve compliance programs and processes to address the compliance risks associated with growing and changing care delivery organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish, advocate and implement standard policies, procedures and best practices to promote compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations
  • Oversee a team of compliance professions located across the United States supporting compliance at the local market level through state/federal research, monitoring of key compliance indicators as well as changes to requirements to mitigate risks and achieve compliance
  • Drive adherence to compliance programs
  • Develop compliance communications and drive problem resolution for a business segment
  • Collaborate with operations to review, analyze and develop/oversee initial implementation project plans and/or corrective action plans to ensure compliance with new or existing laws and regulations and company, customer and accreditation requirements
  • Consult and coordinate with new business/sales/product development to determine all regulations pertaining to any products being offered in the marketplace
  • Strategically evaluate the regulatory landscape and drive proactive engagement across business partners to advocate for, or implement changes to processes, controls, products and services that align with the regulatory landscape

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience working in a government, legal, healthcare, managed care and/or health insurance environment in a regulatory, privacy, compliance or clinical role
  • 10+ years of experience supervising and leading a team
  • 8+ years of experience leading and implementing a comprehensive compliance program
  • Experience working in large complex matrixed organization
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and/or Medicaid managed plans
  • 5+ years of experience working within a care delivery organization
  • Experience working is a non-compliance related business role

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $169,500 to $322,500.
