SunGold Foods is seeking a Production Manager with experience in food manufacturing, agriculture, or related production for our Horace, ND facility. The Production Manager will direct, and coordinate activities concerned with the safe production of company production 2 nd and 3 rd shift to ensure timely completion with quality product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Delivers scheduled production, on time, within cost, and at quality level.
  • Analyzes schedules to estimate worker hours.
  • Interprets specifications and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
  • Analyzes and resolves work opportunities or assists workers in solving them.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment efficiencies, sustainability, and quality of product.
  • Monitor equipment performance and adjust as needed.
  • Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free.
  • Adheres to all AIB/SQF food safety requirements.
  • Lead a continuous improvement/employee involvement culture. Drive for excellence and support operators and staff in their tasks focusing on safety of people.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises two shift leads and approximately 25-35 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in food manufacturing (preferred)
  • Prior experience managing a team in a production or manufacturing setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop, implement and manage Production Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Solid understanding of general safety and OSHA standards
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work a cross over shift (approximately 5pm to 2:30am)
