Description: Our client, a Global Food Production company, is currently seeking a Director, Quality Assurance & Compliance

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
  • This is a plant based position (so no traveling)
  • It is a fast-paced 15 Hour production operation (6 AM to 9 PM - 2 Shifts - 1000 employees)
  • Will be reporting to the VP and have responsibility over Quality and Sanitation
  • You will be in charge of 5 direct reports, and 30 QA Technicians
  • Oversight of training and management of QA, Sanitation, and HACCP employees
  • Oversee continuous improvement of HACCP, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation programs and procedures
  • Develop and maintain storing relationships, industry's councils, technical committees, and internal/external food safety regulating bodies such as 3rd Party inspectors such as USDA.
  • Develop and maintain strong links with pertinent departments such as Production, Maintenance, and Sales
  • Provide support regarding customer complaint investigation and consumer feedback
  • Participate and support all recall activity
  • Ensure the sustainability of the Quality Management System
  • Provide input regarding industry standards, regulations, and program development
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Animal Science, or Biology
  • Lean/Six Sigma training
  • 10+ years of Food Safety and Quality Assurance experience, in a USDA regulated Food Manufacturing environment (Fresh Animal Protein preferred)
  • 5+ years in a people management role in FSQA
  • Strong USDA knowledge
  • Extensive HACCP experience
  • SQF experience (Practitioner certification a plus)
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Must be open and flexible to change, take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in software applications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish would be a big plus
