The Maintenance Engineer is a hybrid individual contributor/leadership position focused around ensuring uninterrupted operation of machining and manufacturing equipment. This person will also lead a group of maintenance staff to accomplish this goal. This person will be responsible for ensuring timely responsiveness to equipment and facility needs. They will ensure machines and equipment are maintained preventatively to avoid breakdowns, and promptly remedied when a breakdown occurs, while maintaining safe work practices and good housekeeping. Additionally, the Maintenance Supervisor will recommend and improve maintenance business processes including project management, equipment installations and moves, or new equipment/automation integrations. Maintenance Engineer Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide preventative or remedial maintenance support for facility and manufacturing equipment as required with internal or external support services.
  • Work with others to improve processes and reduce cost including equipment installation or relocation.
  • Purchase of non-critical supplies, monitor expenses, and champion cost reduction ideas within the organization.
  • Maintain plant security systems and programs.
  • Provide leadership to keep operation with EPA and OSHA regulation.
  • Plan and lead facility changes and coordinate activities.
  • Prioritize and organize workload of maintenance activities.
  • Manage Coolant and manufacturing byproduct disposal and recycling (chips, waste oil, etc)
  • Manage crane and hoist inspections.
  • Manage Maintenance of Facility
  • Lead, Coach, and Mentor maintenance staff.
  • Provide insight and support to new equipment including facility, layout, and production equipment.
  • Provide direction to external vendors including electricians, riggers, HVAC, general contractors, etc.


Maintenance Engineer Key Requirements:

  • Requires 4-year degree in engineering, or relevant field.
  • Requires 6 years relevant experience.
  • Experience includes repair and assembly of mechanical, electrical and controls of CNC or similar type machines.
  • Proven track record of leadership in Maintenance environment. Familiarity with Fanuc controlled CNC Equipment
  • General knowledge of building maintenance.
  • Project management skills.
  • Knowledge of current equipment technology.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and has the ability to adapt to changes in the work requests or environment.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and motivates and develops others to succeed. Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively to leaders, co-workers, and staff.
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships.
