This position will reside with the NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) Engineering Directorate's Crew and Thermal Systems Division and work closely with the Artemis Systems Engineering and Technical Integration teams.What You'll Be DoingThe function of this open position is to provide project management and systems engineering expertise for development and delivery of the Gateway Environmental Control and Life Support System (ECLSS).The Gateway ECLSS GFE PM is needed to provide early project formulation for the GFE projects needed by the Gateway Program.This position will be responsible for providing water, air, and/or emergency response flight hardware certification project plans to the Gateway program, tailoring the flight certification processes to support the balance of risk and cost for this new program.This person will perform trade studies on options to provide the program and requirement traces to ensure hardware meets expectations.The position will be responsible for identification of vehicle interfaces to support seamless integration into vehicle systems.This individual will serve as a technical specialist in life support systems engineering, including requirements development, technical resource management, engineering data management, interface definition, engineering planning and design integration.Experience in project management is a must.Knowledge of stakeholder management including cost, technical, and schedule reporting of existing work and project proposals for new work is needed.Expert knowledge of space flight certification processes to ensure performance and safety requirements are met (including knowledge of NPR 7120, EA-WI-023, or equivalent processes) is also needed.Perform Gateway ECLSS trade studies and analysis.Coordinate ECLSS requirements and technical objectives with subject matter experts and stakeholders.Prepare and present decision packages and change requests to update the Gateway ECLSS technical baseline.Manage interfaces between Gateway habitable modules and between Gateway and Visiting Vehicles.Develop detailed verification objectives.Provide ECLSS expertise in support of module and GFE development, and integrated Gateway and mission analysis.Evaluate ECLSS development and qualification progress and requirements compliance.Perform other duties for the customer as requiredWhat You Need to be Successful Bachelor's degree or Advanced degree in an appropriate technical discipline from an accredited institution.12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experienceExceptional Project Management skills (Cost, technical, Schedule, Risk Management)Exceptional Communications skillsHow You Can Stand Out Exhibits exceptionally high level of innovation, creativeness, and initiativeDemonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customersWidely recognized internally and externally by peers, management, program office, Air Force, and contractorsMust be able to work near the customer location (Houston, Texas)Ways We Reward Our Employees During your interview process, our team will provide details of our industry-leading benefits.Benefits vary and are applicable based on Job Type.
