What does a great Software Development Engineer, Sr. do?
  • Ensures compliance to Programming principles, company and industry standards in all phases of the SDLC
  • Assists in the development of and adherence to technical and functional standards
  • Under limited direction, research, define, & complete required additions and changes to financial software products
  • Under limited direction, analyze technical specifications for both creation of new or enhancing existing applications for compatibility with other systems
  • Participates in strategic planning sessions and technical discussions and demonstrate the ability to assist in translating technical designs testable plans, cases and scenarios
  • Interacts with external, as well as, internal clients for the purpose of data gathering, assisting with design, and ensuring development of solutions that meet or exceed client expectations
  • Contributes as an active member of highly skilled self-sufficient agile development team
  • Facilitates test-driven development and manual and automated testing per project demands, writing test plans and test cases, taking part in peer reviews, participating in design sessions and code reviews
  • Continuously focuses on and develops professional skills and masters new tools / techniques
  • Diagnoses development needs most applicable to the team, and pursues training / tools to fill those needs
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify architectural problems including scalability, performance, reliability, usability & security
  • Drives collaboration within Scrum teams / overall organization
  • Assists with defect remediation efforts to support company objectives
  • Determines testing scope; prepares test design/plan and executing manual and automated tests
  • Provides direction and guidance to team members for automation principles
  • Drives efforts to improve coverage of automated regression tests
  • Creates and maintains test environments and test data sets


Basic Qualifications for Consideration :
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (or foreign equivalent degree) or equivalent work experience and/or Certifications
  • 3+ years Data Engineering experience
  • Experience with Database programming, PL-SQL, Python and ETL coding
  • Proficient with database validation testing, White box and Black box testing and test driven development
  • Experience with Cognos 10 or higher
  • Experience working within an agile development team.
  • Experience with Oracle 12c or higher with an ability to understand and develop moderate to complex SQLqueries and stored procedures
  • Strong attention to detail, self- starter and ability to motivate self and coworkers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication / collaboration skills
  • Must have excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills


Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Banking/Financial Industry experience
  • Experience with financial software and data warehousing.
  • Data modeling, validation and report writing
  • Experience with Cyber Security and encryption of data at rest.
  • Automation Framework experience.
  • Ability to understand and create detail automated test scripts
  • Experience with Visual Studio
  • Knowledge the following tools: Oracle Client, SQL +, TOAD, Visual Studio, Jira, Confluence, GITHUB, Beyond Compare, Cross DB Studios, Selenium, UFT or equivalent automation test suites and frameworks
