POSITION SUMMARY: The Salesforce Business Analyst (Salesforce BA) is a strategic thinker responsible for eliciting business needs from stakeholders, analyzing and synthesizing information obtained. The business analyst will play a central role in aligning the needs of the business units with Information Technology (IT) capabilities focused on Salesforce (Sales, Service, Marketing, Communities/Experience Cloud). The Salesforce BA will have knowledge of a business unit(s) and how each unit interacts with other units (cross-functional knowledge). The Salesforce BA follows an established methodology for elicitation, analysis, review, documentation and communication of business needs and requirements to IT. Elicits business needs and contributes to the design of solutions with direct interaction with business subject matter experts and technology team on low to moderately complex initiatives. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Elicits and analyses requirements to address business problems and/or opportunities. Provides guidance and options on technical solutions and collaborates with IT team to determine if solutions currently exist in Salesforce or new solutions are feasible. Analyzes, documents, and manages requirement changes in accordance with standard practice to assist in identifying business priorities including documenting discussions, agreements and existing processes. Collaborates with Product Owners, Product Managers, Solution and Data Architects to design and deliver software solutions that meet business requirements, Service Level Agreements, and security requirements. Ensures analysis deliverables are documented with clarity and delivered on time. Clearly presents requirements in a format and structure that is appropriate for intended audience. Ensures regulatory requirements are addressed or not violated by the recommended technical solution. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: Business Analysis principles; requirements elicitation, analysis, design and solution validation. Project Management and SDLC methodology (e.g. Iterative, Waterfall, Agile) principles. Ideal candidate understands having a good balance of configurations and customizations to keep maintenance costs reasonable and ensuring the technical solution is scalable and adaptable to multiple clients/business units. Elicits and analyses business and system requirements and represents business requirements using various tools and modeling techniques such as UML Modelling such as Data Mapping and Data Analysis, Value Stream mapping, Business Process Management, systems requirements elicitation, use case modelling, data flow diagraming, business rules analysis, business capability mapping. Ability to: Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Positively challenge ideas, requests, needs to ensure business value is delivered. Bring diplomacy and tact to difficult situations (i.e. influence and negotiation skills). Work in a complex, high speed, self-correcting environment in search of desirable results under conditions of high uncertainty and high change. Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, presentation and facilitation skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. Demonstrate strong collaboration and values team health. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or another related field preferred. However, upon evaluation, equivalent related experience and/or education may be substituted for degree requirement. Required: 2 years of technical and business experience that included business analysis experience performing requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and design in a highly integrated environment. A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Business Analyst. Experience with Sales, Service Cloud. Lightning experience is a plus. Understanding of Salesforce standard functionality. Functional knowledge of SFDC data structure, Knowledge Management and Case Management capabilities. Other Requirements: May have minor travel. Extended hours may be required to meet project deadlines. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration) 1 year experience conducting business analysis for CRM solutions such as Salesforce. Salesforce Certification i.e. Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Certified Sales. Tools: Power Designer, Atlassian Suite (Confluence, Jira), Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
