This position is responsible for assisting with the execution of internal audit, compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley), and risk management consulting activity over IT/IS areas. You will be responsible for supporting the performance of information technology audits and special projects by assessing the existence, effectiveness, and efficiency of IT controls and their compliance with laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate a specific interest to work and develop skills in IT audit. They will also possess strong interpersonal skills while working effectively with a team, strong oral and written communication skills, and a desire to make a positive impact with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist audit management, execute internal audits including audit planning, detailed audit procedures and related testing and reporting in accordance with professional and departmental standards
  • Focus on IT security, operations, and compliance processes
  • Assist with IT Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) testing as needed (SOX, MAR, FDICIA)
  • Prepare clear, accurate and complete work papers in accordance with department quality standards
  • Meet project timelines and deliverable due dates
  • Identify audit issues and perform root cause analysis with practical corrective solutions
  • Perform follow-up on assigned audit report action plans to ensure that the business partners have completed agreed upon action
  • Participate on special projects undertaken by the department and/or the company

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
  • Auditing and/or IT/IS experience
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of auditing and/or IT/IS experience
  • 1+ years of experience testing Sarbanes-Oxley, MAR, SOC
  • Understanding of internal control concepts and practical application
  • Healthcare Industry or related experience
  • Audit, assurance, or IT Security related certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA, CISSP)
