Job Description:

The Ariens Company is growing and we are looking for a talented Mid-Level Industrial Designer with a passion for tools, equipment, and user centered design. With rich history and pride in American Craftsmanship going back to 1933, our company's vision remains simple: Passionate People, Astounded Customers. We are a leading manufacturer of Outdoor Power equipment and design a wide range of products and experiences.

Our Design Studio supports several brands of outdoor power equipment including America's #1 brand snow blower as well as lawn mowers, UTVs, and a variety of other outdoor power equipment. With engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and corporate onsite, we are a uniquely poised studio with the opportunity to lead research, concept development, innovation efforts, and design execution for all new products. Working in a dynamic team setting our ideal designer is self-driven and comfortable at all stages of an NPD process. A passion for human centered design is the core of what we do. Candidates must be able to communicate design concepts both visually and verbally, as well as collaborate across multiple disciplines to discover new opportunities and deliver products. The ability to analysis product opportunities and communicate potential solution to the business is key. A hands-on approach and willingness to "get dirty" is also a must. Our team's mission is to push the impact of design and deliver industry leading outdoor power equipment. Responsibilities:

* Thorough research and exploration, understand and define end customer needs in order to drive innovative concepts, products, and experiences.

* Balancing multiple projects, the Industrial Designer will work on production projects as well and R&D activities.

* Working side by side with engineering and manufacturing the Industrial Design team works together with product development teams to deliver market ready products. As an Industrial Designer collaboration and driving discussion in key.

Requirements:

* 3+ years of post-graduate, professional design experience.

* Bachelor's degree/diploma in Industrial Design or Product Design.

* A proven track record of highly refined and developed product with portfolio to match.

* Mastery of CAD software (Rhino 3D) and rendering packages.

* Mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite for digital sketching and product concepts.

* Thorough understanding of the Design Process and its integration into a product development process.

* Strong visual communication skills. Rapid ideation, digital and hand sketching skills.

* 3D prototype development. Digital and hand modeling.

* A base level understanding of Solidworks.

* Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge of various materials and manufacturing processes.
