The Opportunity
This senior level accounting position is primarily responsible for assisting with the integrity, timeliness and accuracy of accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and other financial records for Great Clips North American Ad Fund, its affiliates, and assisting with the accounting of other companies as assigned. This position supports the internal Marketing department and acts as a liaison between the company and external auditors in providing the required information and ensuring that proper information is maintained in accordance to GAAP for Great Clips North American Ad Fund. This position will also assist with developing and maintaining accounting policies, practices and procedures for existing tasks and any new assignments.
Your Mission
On your journey, you will:
??? Lead preparation of the Ad Fund accounting and financial records and related technical systems for system wide programs and individual markets to ensure the appropriate allocation of Ad Fund resources in the proper fiscal periods, including preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements and distributing to internal stakeholders and franchisees.
??? Prepare month end reconciliations and entries, create and maintain related records and spreadsheets for assigned accounts, review financial records and transactions related to the Ad Fund.
??? Act as the lead in the external audit and review functions for all companies, including the interim and year end audit processes.
??? Support the monthly Ad Fund forecasting process. Lead the annual Ad Fund budgeting process and design reports and other analysis as needed to help make sound financial decisions.
??? Act as a financial consultant to the Marketing Team in the areas of Ad Fund reporting, financial support, system performance and system analysis to ensure that the system reports are accurate and thoroughly understood by Marketing Managers.
??? Monitor and report on the cash position, including cash flow forecasting, of the Ad Fund and coordinate vendor payments to ensure adequate cash is available to meet payment demands.
Your Expertise
To land this job you will need to show your proven ability and possess the following:
??? Four-year degree in accounting and 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and accounting or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. Knowledge of and experience in Fund Accounting desired.
??? Knowledge of various types of accounts and accounting entries; ability to post, verify, and balance debit and credit entries, reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, maintain journals and ledgers
??? Ability to integrate various journal and ledger entries and balances to create financial statements and reports.
??? Proven knowledge of budgeting principles and forecasting techniques.
??? Hands-on experience in financial statement preparation.
??? Possess excellent organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure and be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet all deadlines with minimal supervision, working extra hours as needed.
??? Skill in preparing written materials such as correspondence, forms, policies and reports.
??? Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the company, including presenting in small groups and leading effective one-to-one communications.
??? Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, high level of attention to detail and accuracy and willingness to take initiative to accomplish tasks.
??? In-depth knowledge of GAAP, and familiarity with GASB and/or FASB standards for financial reporting.
??? Experience using a financial general ledger ERP system, including the ability to build queries/reports and analyze systems and processes within a computer automated financial system with an emphasis on improved efficiency. Ability to develop and model financial and budgetary information using Excel.
??? Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. Proven ability to develop, initiate and implement new procedures and seek out process improvements to enhance the workflow of the department while applying standard accounting principles (GAAP).
??? The ability to adapt to change in processes and growth in business.
??? Ability to listen, earn trust, and accept direct feedback from others while building strong, positive relationships.
Your Work Environment
Our corporate headquarters is located in Bloomington, MN. Our approach to work environment focuses on the balance between teamwork and flexibility which means that you will spend three days of your week at the office and have the option to work two days a week remotely.
This is a Home Office position in which you will work a standard 40 hours a week schedule where you may sit and look at a computer screen for extended periods. Additional hours may be required during month and year end close, and other occasional busy periods throughout the year. There may be opportunity to travel once or twice a year to meetings and conferences.
