In this Staff Accountant role, it will be critical for you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. If you can perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, you will succeed in this role. What you get to do every day

- Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

- Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

- Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

- Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

- Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

- Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

- Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

- In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

- Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

- Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

- Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

- Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

- Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

Job Requirements:

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

- Competent with spreadsheets and databases

- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

- 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

- Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

- Skilled with ERP systems

- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

- Paylocity experience required

- Full Cycle Payroll experience desired

- Account reconciliation experience

- Experience with Standard Costing

- Proficiency in month end closings

- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
