Tax Accountant

Our client is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team. This is a growing company and this position will have an opportunity to potentially manage people in the future as they grow. This is reporting to the Director of Finance, the key leader for the organization. This company has no debt, is employee owned, and has some excellent benefit offerings.

The Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and filing sales/use/property tax returns and tax forms. They will provide guidance and recommendations to operations regarding various tax laws, rates, and exemptions. They will help review contracts to determine taxable/ non-taxable status and will assist in the coordination of any internal or external tax audits.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly tax returns and review the documents for accuracy. File all tax returns before tax deadlines.
• Stay up to date on all sales/use/property tax laws and changes
• Provide guidance to operations on sales/use tax rates, items needed for tax exemption, and any new tax laws or changes in the tax law
• Develop and Implement procedures to improve the efficiency of the tax department, including training other departments on tax matters
• Address sales/use tax questions and issues, including internal and external customer contact
• Assist in the reconciliation of tax general ledger accounts

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum three years sales/use tax experience
• Multi state experience
