About The Senior Software Developer Role

soona is looking for three Senior Full Stack Software Developer with a passion for craft and an eye for quality. at soona you will be a major player in the ongoing development of soona's unique tech platform and client experience. you will also get to play a vital role in mentoring teammates, developing the department culture, and creating the next wave of exciting tech that will unlock soona's ability to scale up in 2021 and beyond.

this is a full-time position located in our Minneapolis office. because of COVID, the opportunity would begin remote and continue that way until everyone is welcomed back into the office.

Requirements

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE CAN

• work closely with the product team to convert business requirements into technical designs
• provide technical mentorship and development of more junior teammates
• develop, propose, and guide department best practices
• provide support for the full life cycle of software product development
• perform prototyping, system analysis, development, fielding, and maintenance of systems
• develop, code, test, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software
• evaluate new software products and technologies, and provide recommendations to enhance existing systems
• conduct software testing to ensure satisfaction of application development requirements
• support software quality assurance and configuration management activities
• document software procedures and develop software reports, plans, and products, such as software development plans, software requirements specifications, software design documents, software development files, source code, version description documents, and test plans

Has Experience In

• bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in the software development field or equivalent
• strong understanding of web architecture and cloud systems
• experience working with a variety of eCommerce platforms
• experience in implementation and deployment of modern web development solutions Ruby on Rails, Vue.JS, PostgreSQL, AWS, Node, Redis
• strong with relational database design and querying (PostgreSQL)
• experience developing a number of Ruby on Rails multi-tier web-based applications
• experience with front-end web development (JavaScript, Vue)
• experience working with websockets and real time messaging
• experience with developing APIs and Microservices
• experience with Agile methodologies
• experience with advanced image handling and manipulation (bonus)
