Parts Room/Inventory Specialist

Essential Job Duties:
  • Manages day to day inventory issues
  • Set up physical locations for both on hand inventory and consignment inventory.
  • Develops locations and space allocations for new stock product and changes locations for product as needed
  • Maintain accurate inventory balances
  • Sets up, facilitates audits, makes adjustments, and solves issues for cycle count processes.
  • Updates part item information in the (CMMS) Computer Maintenance Management System
  • Responsible for FIFO, overstock and non-stock parts with no orders.
  • Recognize internal and external customer needs
  • Performs physical cycle counts of inventory and reconciles to system-generated reports
  • Label parts and materials with identifying information
  • Monitor part usage transactions and identify and adjust MIN/MAX for high use parts and low turn/ obsolete inventory
  • Fill work orders, or requests for materials and distributes parts to proper locations
  • Drive forklift using safety procedures
  • Receive daily parts orders & distribute or put into stock
  • Communicate with Maintenance Scheduler to track and coordinate projects based on purchased parts delivery date
  • Obtain missing part numbers and prints for machine build parts
Background and Skills:
  • One (1) year of inventory control, processing requisitions purchase orders and maintaining records experience
  • Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, decimals), reading and writing.
  • Forklift experience preferred or the ability to obtain forklift certification (required).
  • Bronze level BPI certification
  • Two years post-secondary education preferred. May substitute 1 to 3 years previous experience in a similar position
  • Previous Parts Room or Warehouse experience preferred
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • 1+ years basic maintenance experience (preferred)
  • Able to lift 50lbs safely
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Project) & Autocad preferred
  • Must work well independently and with minimal supervision
