Overview:
Cardinal Stritch University is currently seeking a qualified candidate for our Athletics department. The Women's Volleyball Coach will act as Head Coach of the Women's Volleyball Team. The coach will be ultimately responsible for the overall administration and management of the Women's Volleyball program and the performance of the teams, both athletically and academically, and the coaching staff.
Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
* Oversee the Women's Volleyball Team
* As a member of the Student Affairs Division, the Women's Volleyball Head coach will work to develop and nurture relationships within the division to achieve short and long-term goals that align with the strategic plan of Cardinal Stritch University
* Schedule team's opponents
* Arrange travel needs (transportation, hotels, and meals) with Athletic Director
* Arrange for referees at all home contests
* Coordinate practice facilities and times with other Stritch Athletic staff
* Inventory and maintain uniforms and equipment
* Oversee recruiting and retention of new and current student-athletes
* Coordinate off-season workout program
* Oversee fundraising efforts for the Women's Volleyball program with the Athletic Director and the Advancement Office
* Interface with the Athletic Trainer concerning injuries
* As a member of the Student Affairs Division, the Women's Volleyball Head coach will work to develop and nurture relationships within the division to achieve short and long-term goals that align with the strategic plan of Cardinal Stritch University.
* Ensure that all student-athletes are performing to standard in classes for eligibility
* Perform semi-annual eligibility checks
* Actively participate in CCAC/NAIA meetings of Women's Volleyball coaches
* Promote deserving student-athletes and the team for awards, both academic and athletic
* Maintain statistics of teams' performance with SID
* Act as liaison to the NAIA and CCAC Volleyball Administrators (if voted on to do so)
* Prepare annual budget requests and maintain financial vibrancy coordinated with the Athletic Director
* Maintain a proper accounting of university funds received and used
* Coordinate all additional duties with department personnel, as assigned by the Athletic Director
* Coordinate and ensure team fulfill community engagement of Champions of Character.
* Additional/dual responsibility required in relation to university programs and candidate's talents
* Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Student-athletes
* Assistant coaches (Paid and volunteer)
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management or related field, required
* Master's Degree preferred
* Minimum three years of collegiate coaching experience at the NCAA/NAIA levels
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
* A valid Wisconsin driver's license (travel by car may be required)
* National license or certification in specific sport for coaching, if available
* CPR/AED training as required by American Red Cross
* OSHA (Bloodborne Pathogen)
* Sexual Harassment Training
