Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, Communications, Marketing, or related field plus 6 or more years professional experience. Candidate must demonstrate effective project management skills and strong written and oral communication skills, and a strong customer service orientation. Candidate should have expertise in social media campaigns and promotions and/or the proven ability to serve as team lead for analytics and social media research. Experience working with social media campaigns including Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, and YouTube. Strong experience in Google Adwords and other digital advertising. Candidate should be a self-starter, exhibit creativity and have the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, prioritize workload, and function as a team. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in video production. Experience developing social campaigns for concerts music, and art events. Knowledge or experience working with students in a student union or university environment. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point. MBA, MA in Leadership, MA in Strategic Communications or Masters level coursework a plus. Higher Education experience is a plus. About the Job Salary range: $59,000 - $65,000, DOQ POSITION OVERVIEW: This position is responsible for providing social media and digital marketing consultation and implementation. This position will lead the social media management and strategy for several areas within Student Unions & Activities (SUA) and Student Affairs along with the marketing manager brand owners. The bulk of this position will be managing SUA accounts however, OSA management will be needed on a smaller scale. The position reports to the Marketing Director and is part of the marketing team which serves the department. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, implement and project manage social and digital strategies including but not limited to, social media strategies, content calendar management, and consultation/approval of the marketing manager/brand owner for each area. Create regular social media and digital metric reports. Serve as the social marketing team lead in conducting data analysis, trend/business research and analysis, collecting and analyzing demographic information, and assessing performance of marketing initiatives at events, concerts and retail locations via social media analytics. Provide consultation when needed. Create an in-depth yearly social media and digital strategy alongside the Marketing Director. Placement and management of social media and digital advertising. Social listening across the University system as it relates to Student Unions & Activities and SUA. Manage annual social and digital advertising budget and all invoices. Provide timely updates to Marketing Director. Supervise one student social media assistant. Assist and develop marketing team on social initiatives, overseeing overall development and prioritization of social; identifying and articulating social best practices in creative, content and paid media, strategies, and issue development. Responsible for maintaining and assessing social media data insights from innovative technologies such as Sprout Social and usage of the Facebook business manager platform. Understand how to use Facebook Pixel. Apply advanced analytical methods to evaluate effectiveness of social media marketing initiatives including: daily posts, campaigns, user experiences, and content management. Assist in oversight of all social media accounts to include Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, You Tube and Snapchat. Manage social promotions, messaging, updates and brand reputation. Understand University, OSA and SUA policies as it relates to social media. Manage digital advertising strategy, analytics, and performance. Review and lead implementation of all digital ad content within the content calendar, scheduling platforms (Sprout Social) and live social posts. Manage content calendar. Manage Sprout Social account. Manage Google AdWords account. Analyze all social media accounts under the OSA umbrella and provide recommendations on how to streamline to Marketing Director and Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs. Responsible for overall visual brand management and aesthetic of social channels to ensure brand reputation and increase reach across campus to intended audience. Responsible for increased engagement and growth of social media accounts. Perform other related duties as assigned. About the Department Student Unions & Activities (SUA) is a department within the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Affairs at the University of Minnesota. SUA provides a variety of programs and services to the University community that enhance the social, educational, and cultural environment of the University of Minnesota. This includes retail services, facility rental, space for individual and group activities, entertainment and educational programs, oversight of student activities, and involvement with diverse student groups. SUA operates three facilities: Coffman Memorial Union on the East Bank campus, the St. Paul Student Center, and retail services on the West Bank campus. The department has an annual budget of $16.8 million. SUA is funded by student fees and revenue generated by the department. The department has a total of 65 fulltime staff, representing all employee groups except faculty, and 250 student employees. SUA provides opportunities for students to enrich and complement their academic experience by integrating student learning outcomes with student employment. The Student Activities area advises a campus-wide program board, registers and advises student groups, acts as a liaison to student cultural groups, and provides leadership programs.
