Production Supervisor, 1st shift and Weekends

Indar Electric Business Machines manufactures electric motors and generators in the power range 0.5 MW to 50MW; in the voltage range 0.69 to 15kV and in the weight range of 1t to 200t, for Wind Turbines and other Energy business fields.


Job Description:

Ingeteam is looking for two positions:

  • 1st shift Production Supervisor (Hours are 5:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursdays), and
  • Weekend Shift Supervisor. (Hours are 5:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday).


The production employees that these positions supervise are responsible for performing mechanical assembly of wind power generators.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and organize team members to meet daily production goals and ensure all standards and customer commitments (safety, quality, output, efficiency and on-time delivery) are met.
  • Maintain employee timekeeping, time off requests and absences through the time management system
  • Responsible for interviewing and hiring production personnel.
  • Actively participate in, review and suggest methods of process improvement
  • Ensure production team is following all rules and guidelines set forth in the contract that governs the collective bargaining employees (the production employees)
  • Evaluate employee performance on a continual basis and provide continuous performance feedback. Collaborate with HR to recommend corrective action, disciplinary actions and resolve any other personnel issues.
  • Develop, train, and mentor production Leads and other employees
  • Create and sustain a positive atmosphere on the production floor
  • Maintain product quality by enforcing organization standards
  • Ensure operation of equipment by assisting maintenance team is adhering to preventative maintenance schedules
  • Monitor atmosphere on the production floor and report back to management areas of opportunity
  • Help in the creation of policies relating to the production floor
  • Document and maintain training records for all production employees. Prepare and submit reports to management as required.
  • Maintain and enforce safe work practices and ensure all employees adhere to environmental, safety, and health standards.
  • Champion of 5S methodology
  • Responsible for Key Performance Indicators: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost
  • Audit and review non-conformities in the production process
  • Ensure tasks are performed according to organizational requirements for quality management and environmental, health and safety standards, polices and procedures.
  • Must be able to work extra hours and on weekend, if needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements/Qualifications:

?? Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in heavy industrial equipment manufacturing and/or in large generators or motors preferred. Must possess strong knowledge of manufacturing, welding and assembly processes.

?? Working knowledge of 5S/6S/lean manufacturing concepts required.

?? Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word) required.

?? Strong communication and leadership skills.

?? Ability to interpret blueprints.

?? Ability to train and motivate others.

?? Ability to multi-task and set priorities.

?? Green Belt certificate desirable.

?? Ability to speak Spanish desirable.

Academic Requirements & Certifications:


?? Associates or Bachelor's degree in manufacturing management and 3-5 yrs. experience as a production supervisor or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
